On Best Behavior LAUNCH

The release of On Best Behavior (The Conduct Series #3) is HERE!

Julie from AToMR Tours hosts the book blast, and today's stop is at Swept Away by Romance. Karla writes an awesome review, and there's a giveaway of the entire series.

Here's the video trailer of On Best Behavior:

Planning a wedding is never easy—especially when the Russian Mafia wants you dead.

On Best Behavior—the third and final book in The Conduct Series—finds our favorite couple moving forward, despite the odds. Following a pardon by the Governor of Illinois, ex-cons Sophie Taylor and Grant Madsen are finally free to pursue their love and the life that lies ahead for them. Grant now fights the forces that have hurt his loved ones by working undercover for the FBI, and he has infiltrated the Russian Mafia in Chicago. Sophie dives into swimming with Grant’s nephew, Ben, and into her career as a psychology professor. Thankfully, now it’s Ben’s turn to heal through therapy sessions with Dr. Hunter Hayes.

With so …

Deleted Scene: On Best Behavior

Only four more days until release day of On Best Behavior! It's exciting to finish my first series.

Earlier I posted the first part of a scene that we cut in the editing process. Here's part two of Sophie and Grant in the church, planning their wedding:

“You know what I was thinking about during our little moment of silence?” Grant asked.

Sophie shook her head.

“Well, I imagined you in your wedding dress, at the end of the aisle.” He gestured toward the altar. “I’m standing right there waiting for you, fidgeting with the flower on my lapel, and when I see you, you look so stunning. Radiant and exquisite.”

She glanced at the entrance of the sanctuary and then back at him. “Mmm, I can see it too. You’re standing by Pastor Tom, looking so McSailoricious in a tux. I want to tear down the aisle, run into your arms.”

He continued the little fantasy. “You try to run, but…your father, he slows you down. He walks you to me—” he flinched as if watching a horror flick “—but then he won’t …

Author Dawn Pendleton!

It's wonderful to have Dawn Pendleton on the blog today. She has organized the New Adult Authors Fall Promo and I truly appreciate all her hard work.

Dawn Pendleton is a new adult author currently residing in New England with her husband and their pup, though she has immediate plans to move to Georgia and promptly become a Southern Belle. When she isn't staring at a blank page, willing the words to jump from her head to the screen, she's usually playing on her iPhone, reading a book, or taking pictures with her fancy camera (which she has no idea how to use).

Her newest release, the first novella in the Best Friends Forever Series, was an idea that occurred to her back in February, when she first started writing. She wasn't at a place where she could write them, though, so she started her Broken Series, instead. Through this past Summer, the BFF series emerged in her head, taking more space until she finally had to let them out. Liar, Liar, the first episode in the ser…

On Best Behavior Deleted Scene

On Best Behavior releases in one week: September 24, 2013!

Make sure you enter the Goodreads giveaway *points to the right*
My awesome editor Jessica Royer Ocken always helps me tighten the story, which included deleting this scene from the first chapter. Sophie and Grant have stopped by the church to plan their nuptials. I'll be back with part two of the scene on Friday. Enjoy!

Tom smiled. “You two already act like a married couple, so I’m sure you’ll be just fine. Stop by and talk to Betty on the way out. You can check the calendar for this summer, and schedule our next meeting.”

“Thank you, Pastor Tom.” Sophie stood.

Grant followed suit. “Thank you, sir.”

Ten minutes later they headed out of the church. When they passed by the sanctuary, Sophie halted. “Let’s take a peek.”

Grant followed her into the spacious rectangular hall with vaulted ceilings. Morning light streamed in through the long windows lining the walls, illuminating the beige paint and pine wood accents, lending…

New Adult Fall Promo: Dawna Raver!

Dawna Raver is an author of paranormal romance and urban fantasy. Color Wielders, book one of the Heirs of the Magykal Realm series, is her debut novel. When she's not spending tim ein her fantasy world, Dawn loves football, reading, and pretending she's a top chef in the kitchen. Oh, and fawning over her dogs and husband, sometimes in that order.
Behind the Faerying Mysts, hidden from Mortal eyes, is a land where gods and creatures of myth and legend dwell. And in the Mortal Realm, their Princess is hidden away.
Quinn Sinclair lives an ordinary life with her less-than-loving mother in Conifer, Colorado, clueless of her true nature. On the night of her bithday, a staggering betrayal sends her life spinning out-of-control. As she struggles to pick up the pieces, a vision of a man with haunting tourmaline-blue eyes begs her for help, and she is transported into a Magykal battle-forever changing her life.

Who's ready for some smack down?

We are! We naughty ladies of Omnific Publishing toss our men into the ring to duke it out, mano a mano, muscle to muscle . . . and may the best book hero win.

Each author submits a photo representing her book hero, and readers vote for their favorites. There will be giveaways of ebooks, swag, and an Amazon gift card!

Love Between the Sheets will host the brackets for ultimate book boyfriend starting September 30.

So who are my contenders?

My shy book heroes have hung back, scoping the competition, but now they're ready to reveal themselves.

No, my book boyfriend is not Long Duck Dong.

(Though he IS quite charming)

Allow me to introduce LEO SCOTT from Streamline:

Leo sends my mind straight to the gutter (the swimming pool gutter). He'll conquer all book boyfriends in a pushup contest, and his sincere striving will break your heart.
And now the hero of The Conduct Series, GRANT MADSEN:

In With Good Behavior (#1 now only $.99) Grant shows he's a goo…

New Adult Author Jade Eby

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who fell in love with books. Then she grew up to write her own.

Jade has participated in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) six times and enjoys copious amounts of coffee. When she's not writing, she enjoys trashy reality T.V. and reading everything she can get her hands on.

Mommy to two dogs and two naughty kitties, she feels like she might be on her way to having a zoo. You can find her on almost every social networking site that aids in her procrastination.

Nothing stays hidden forever.

Kara Pierce has held onto the same dream since she was a little girl: to be the next Katie Couric.

Vince Gage, a budding filmmaker whose I-don't-give-a-shit attitude cancels out his char,. almost ruined it for her once, and now he's back, threatening to do it again.

When the two of them are paired together for a college competition with a $20,000 prize, the only thing they agree on is winning.

They return to Iowa where Kara grew up …

#IWSG: Critique Partners

Congratulations, Alex Cavanaugh! Your brainchild Insecure Writers Support Group celebrates its two year anniversary today, and I'm happy to be part of the group.

Today I want to discuss critique partners, and I have many questions for you. Do you have a critique partner? Several? How does it work for you? (What's the structure? Has it helped you? What do you wish you'd known when you started?)

A good friend and I agreed to be critique partners, and I want to learn from the collective wisdom of this group about how to make this relationship work best.

When I started writing, I posted stories online, and the feedback made me eager to get the next chapter out there. Now that I'm writing novels, my motivation has waned. I'm hoping that having an encouraging friend waiting for the next chapter will help inspire me to write more frequently.

September is for SEQUELS Giveaway Hop

Thanks to Lisa Loves Literature and Kathy I Am A Reader for hosting this hop celebrating SEQUELS.

Are you a huge series fan like me? I love when subsequent books are even better than the first book in the series. Here are some of my favorite sequels:

Unlawful Contact (the I-Team #3) by Pamela Clare. An escaped convict who kidnaps his high school girlfriend to save his sister's life? Awesome plot and swoon-worthy hero.

Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood #3) by J.R. Ward. I'm not a vampire fangurl but I do love a wounded hero like Zsadist.

And the sequel I can't WAIT to read is Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover. Hopeless was brilliant and I want to read Holder's POV.

I have a sequel of my own launching 9-24-13: On Best Behavior (The Conduct Series #3). I want YOU to win the Advanced Reader Copy!

With Good Behavior (The Conduct Series #1) starts the mayhem of a convict love story, and I'm also giving away its sequel Bad Behavior (The Conduct Series #2).

To enter, complete …
