YALL Fest Fun

What fun it was to attend a young adult book festival in Charleston, South Carolina on Saturday: The YALL Fest 2012!

Omnific Publishing sponsored an exhibitor table and provided tons of YA books to give away to our readers. Lovely author Trisha Wolfe signed copies of her steampunk-futuristic-sci-fi Destiny's Fire, and I signed copies of my swimming-romance-military-murder-mystery Streamline.

Here I am wearing a fake Navy hat, posing with Trisha Wolfe. Yes, I am twice her size. ;-)
We also had the pleasure of introducing readers to our pub sisters' creations:

Embrace by Cherie Colyber
Life, Liberty & Pursuit by Susan Kaye Quinn
Ember and Shades of Atlantis by Carol Oates
Breaking Point by Jessica Bowen

(Too bad Iridescent by Carol Oates and Reaping Me Softly by Kate Evangelista were too hot off the presses to make it to this festival.)

Here are readers holding their signed copies of Streamline!

Kristen and Sharanna

Marie works at a library on a Naval Base

Morgan and Briana--aren't they cute?

And here's cool YA book blogger Briana from The Book Pixie

Happy reading to all who attended! I definitely encourage you to attend next year's YALL Fest if you can make it. It's a great place to interact with enthusiastic readers.

That's very cool, Jennifer! Bet it's fun to meet so many fans like that.

That looks so fun! How nice to get a chance to interact with readers. Is Trisha, like, 4 feet tall?

Hey, I got to meet a new Omni author this weekend -- Marian Vere! (Who's actually another Jennifer) I'll get our picture up later this week.

P.S. You look adorable. ;)

I was so busy watching all the YALLFest panels that I never even made it to the exhibitor tent, and now I feel like I missed out. As a Charleston native, I hope you enjoyed your visit!

Great post, Jen! I had a blast hanging with you! And yes, what a treat to meet so many readers, bloggers, and authors. YALL Fest is awesome. Can't wait for next year! Wooots!

AWESOME!!! Looks like this was such a fun event Jen! And Trisha is quite possibly the tiniest person ever. I feel like I would squish her if I tried to hug her. You look adorable in your hat:)

Thanks, Alex! I find YA fans to be enthusiastic and fun, and more appear to read all genres than with adult fans.

Nicki, hee hee. I'm either 6'5" or Trish is 4' in that picture. I was calling her "Mini-Me" but I'm not sure she liked that. ;-)

Egads, ANOTHER Jennifer? We're invading! I like her pen name a lot.

Jocelyn, sorry I missed meeting you. Maybe next year! I had so much fun that I'd like to return.

Jennifer Lane said...

Trish, I just read on Jocelyn's blog that the date for next year is November 9! Get ready, chica.

Jenny, I found that fake Navy hat at Target and knew I had to wear it to represent Leo ha ha. Yes, I felt ginormous compared to Trish. Good times. But her heart is huge! ;-)
