Dreaming of #Books #Giveaway Hop

Thanks to Kathy from I Am A Reader for hosting...

Ah, books. Most of us love 'em so much we dream about them.

A disturbing dream inspired my current novel, Twin Sacrifice.

How much do you enjoy books with a dreamlike quality? Not so much dreamy in a romantic way, but more like you can't tell if the plot is a dream or reality. I don't like to feel confused when I read. So I'm hesitant to read Never, Never even though I lurve Colleen Hoover.

It would be a dream for you to win a $10 gift card! I'm also giving away an ebook of my college volleyball romance Blocked. Enter here:

a Rafflecopter giveaway
And don't forget to enter two giveaways on the sidebar of my blog *points right*.

Now take a bunny hop over to these blogs to win cool crap!

A dream quality book has unique and great character development plus that twist on the last bits of the book that you'd end up craving for more haha

Cali, I'm a fan of romance too!

Kim, good point--if there's awesome characterization, I might forgive a dreamlike, confusing plot.

Stacey, thank you--I edited the post to be clearer.

Karin, I agree.

Maria, awesome! Have you read Never, Never?

I felt that Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro had a dreamlike quality and it was one of the best novels I've ever read.

I don't think I've read a book with a dreamy quality like you've described, but it sounds interesting.

Well, I love The Sandman comics by Neil Gaiman (and a lot of his books have dream quality), but Sandman is totally about dreams, because he is Morpheus, eheheh

I like dreams to be prophetic or insightful. If there is a scifi or fantasy touch to the book, that is even better.
Jaime Lester said…
I would have to say it depends on the dream quality itself. Most of the time though, I tend to enjoy those types of "almost outside of reality" type stories!
Lisa Mandina said…
It just depends on the rest of the story. And the characters. The characters make the story for me.

It depends on the characters and the story.

I really do like books that have dreamy qualities to them. Who really know sometime what is really happening and what we think is happening?
Unknown said…
I must like them because some of my favorite books have dreamy qualities.
I like the dreamy quality. Real life is way too real to read about it all the time.

I don't like books that leave you wondering whether something really happened or if the character was dreaming. This reminds me of the t.v. show Dallas, didn't they turn J.R.'s murder into a dream?

Dreamy charcters: Meh.
Dreamy as in fantasy; YES PLEASE!
Dreamy as in fairy tales: Yes
