#IWSG Inspringration

Welcome to May's Insecure Writer's Support Group hosted by Alex Cavanaugh. It's a great place to vent fears and encourage each other.

May's Question: It's spring! Does this season inspire you to write more than others, or not?

Thank goodness spring has sprung. These cold, cloudy days have been major downers. The longer daylight in spring often motivates many aspects of my life, including writing.

I'm also inspired by different types of artists. Is anyone watching American Idol? I'm amazed by how much I enjoy the new season. Besides writing, creative pursuits like singing, cooking (in Chopped), and fashion design (in Project Runway) enthrall me.

Here's a post that might interest you: Seven Ways to Build Your Writing Confidence.

Happy writing!

Yesterday was the first day it really felt like spring. Today too. I'm with you on the doldrums from all this cold weather.

See, that's why I live in Florida. Sunshine every day, warm weather most of the year... But mostly the sunshine. And my husband hates shoveling snow.
Other creative pursuits really help with the writing :-)

I recently did some binge watching of Chopped and loved it and I don't even really cook. It does help to have other creative outlets for those times when the writing must is absent. Cheers - Ellen
Glad you are inspired by spring! Watched a little of Idol, but America's Got Talent is my favorite.

I admire anyone creative. It's always good to have a range of inspiration!

I love fashion designing! I used to draw my own designs. I was given a new drawing notebook for Christmas so I would get back into it. I need to pick up my pencil again and try out my hand with some new designs. It's a great creative outlet.

Thanks for the link. Someday our Reality-TV loves will coincide.

It's Maaay, so I plan to start feeding you chapters by the end of this week. :)

I'm often inspired in my writing by visual arts. Images - photos and paintings - spur my imagination.

Natalie, hooray for warmer weather! This weekend has been cloudy in Ohio but at least my jacket is staying in the closet.

Crystal, Florida sounds awesome. I dream of living on the beach one day.

Thanks for stopping by, Ronel! I agree we need to fuel our creative brain with multiple inputs.

Hey Ellen, the format of Chopped is a lot of fun! I know some friends who create their own mystery basket contests and that would be a riot.

Alex, I hear good things about America's Got Talent but I've never tried it. Do they declare the results the same night as the performances? Idol is doing that this year and I like it.

Nick, agreed! Writers find inspiration in strange places sometimes.

Chrys, that's awesome you do fashion design! I wouldn't have the first clue but the designers in Project Runway fascinate me.

Hey Nicki, awesome start to your story! Great to be back in the CP saddle. I know you like Survivor--any other reality shows that you enjoy?

Olga, as I recall, you have some lovely images on your blog so that makes sense. Thanks for stopping by!

I adore creative competition shows almost as much as I enjoy creating. It is inspiring to watch people passionate about there craft. I also think there is great synergy in creating through different mediums. I completely agree that creating in one can help inspire the other.

I may or may not be addicted to Masterchef Australia. :) I wish I could do what they do, and I do find it inspiring. It's also nice after a long day of writing to tune in to something that doesn't require a lot of brainpower. :)
